Community Charity -- Rise Against Hunger
If you have been to a Rise Against Hunger Packaging event on our Island, you do not need to read any further. We are all totally committed and believers in this amazing organization. Their mission is to stop global hunger in our lifetime. They accomplish this by sending prepackaged meals of dried, nutritionally complete grains and legumes to over 74 countries in crisis, due to natural and human caused events. Organization and community members buy the meal components in bulk and have events where hundreds of volunteers come together on a specific day and assemble the individual meal packages as a huge assembly line. Last year it was so large that the Atlantic Community Center was used as the assembly site. Of course, the organization relies on donations to make this possible. This month we are collecting for them to continue their good work. Donate at: https://www.riseagainsthunger.org/our-impact/
