Westside Postcards to Democrats - Wednesday 5 June 12:00 PM

Wednesday June 5 12pm 45544 Ingleham Cir. Callahan

We are sending postcards to Democrats in the June 18 Florida House District 38 Special Election. Our candidate is Kelly Smith. We finished our first 100 and are now on our second 100. With only two more sessions before the election, we need all the help we can get. Thanks to all those who have helped us get this far and we hope to see you Wednesday.

Postcard Writing at Democratic Headquarters - Thursday May 23rd from 10 - 2

We invite you to help us write postcards to encourage fellow Democrats to vote for Kelly Smith. She is running for the Florida House in District 13, in Zephyrhills, Florida.  She is a strong supporter of quality public education and supports Medicaid expansion and affordable health care. Kelly has asked for our help and we support her in this race.

Postcard writers have a strong history of bringing people to the polls. Many voters have commented on how a simple handwritten postcard was the reason they went and voted that day. However, we need your help!

Thursday, May 23, 10 am to 2 pm, at Democratic Headquarters in Fernandina. Come anytime during those hours.

We had a good postcard session this week and finished almost 150 cards. We still have 250 left to write for Kelly Smith for Florida House of Representatives, so we will meet again next Thursday, May 23, 10 am to 2 pm, at Democratic Headquarters. We will need as many writers as possible to get them all done.

Help us support our candidates and enjoy the camaraderie too! We will have postcards, pens, stamps and addresses. Just bring yourself.

Thanks,

Joan Cipriano

Postcard Writing - Thursday 16 May

We invite you to help us write postcards for two great Democratic candidates this week, one in Pennsylvania and one right here in Florida.

Thursday, May 16, 10 am to 2 pm, at Democratic Headquarters in Fernandina. Come anytime during those hours.

The Pennsylvania cards are for election for US Congress on Tuesday, May 21, in a huge Republican district in Pennsylvania that includes University Park and State College.  Our candidate, Marc Friedenberg, is a native Pennsylvanian with degrees from Penn State University and Columbia Law School. He is an expert in cybersecurity and cyber law who wants to fight for healthcare and better funding for public schools, issues that matter to conservatives as well as Democrats.

Here in Florida, Kelly Smith has asked us to help her in her race for Florida House in District 13 in the Zephyrhills. She is a strong supporter of quality public education and supports Medicaid expansion and affordable health care.

Help us support our candidates and enjoy the camaraderie too! We will have postcards, pens, stamps and addresses. Just bring yourself.

Community Charity -- Rise Against Hunger

If you have been to a Rise Against Hunger Packaging event on our Island, you do not need to read any further. We are all totally committed and believers in this amazing organization. Their mission is to stop global hunger in our lifetime. They accomplish this by sending prepackaged meals of dried, nutritionally complete grains and legumes to over 74 countries in crisis, due to natural and human caused events. Organization and community members buy the meal components in bulk and have events where hundreds of volunteers come together on a specific day and assemble the individual meal packages as a huge assembly line. Last year it was so large that the Atlantic Community Center was used as the assembly site. Of course, the organization relies on donations to make this possible. This month we are collecting for them to continue their good work.  Donate at: https://www.riseagainsthunger.org/our-impact/
