Our dinner speaker for October is Rachel Steele the local lead for Nassau County Moms Demand Action.  Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is a national, nonpartisan network of moms, dads and friends standing up for Gun Sense by demanding action to curb gun violence in America.

 Reservations and prepayment are required to attend.

Democratic Club of Amelia Island Monthly Dinner Meeting

This month’s speakers are Glenn Virdin, Nassau County School District, Safety Specialist, who oversees the District’s School Security Programs and Angie McClellan, Program Manager of Families in Transition (FIT), which offers support to homeless students and their families. 

This month we will support the Nassau County School District Families in Transition Program.  Let's show them our DCAI generosity! This program provides assistance to homeless students and families.  They are in particular need of school supplies including notebooks, Ticonderoga pencils, pens, paper, zip drives and earbuds. 

 Reservations and prepayment are required to attend.

Community Charity-  Coalition for the Reduction/Elimination of Ethnic Disparities in Health (CREED) 

CREED will sponsor a community Back to School Event on August 3, 2019 at the Peck Center.  During this event CREED collaborates with St. Vincent's Medical Center who will provide free school and sport's physicals, Wal-Mart Vision Center will provide vision screening, the Nassau County Health Department, Florida State College of Jacksonville, and other local agencies, businesses and churches will also assist during the event.  

What we need from you:

  • Wide rule and college rule note book paper.

  • Pens; red, black

  • #2 pencils and colored pencils

  • Composition tablets

  • Glue sticks

  • Reading books for children grades preschool to sixth grade.

  • We will also offer supplies that you can purchase at the dinner.
